MHRM Division 2 Firesharks U11's v Wheathampstead Tigers

Firesharks began their Mid Herts 11 a side season in a great setting at sunny Wheathampstead today and thudded out a 7-1 victory against plucky Tigers.
After 2 minutes Kieran took the ball from a long throw by Matt and drilled superbly from outside the six yard box to make it 1-0. After 6 minutes a great corner from Matt again saw Oliver scramble one over the line in true poaching style 2-0. Matt gave the assist for our third when a strong long range effort from Nick beat the goalie . Dom fired in a hard shot which the keeper parried and Kieran was on hand to rifle in his second and our fourth on 15 minutes.
Tigers came out stronger in the second half but on 36 minutes, Courtney now in a striking role took another assist from Matt to finish well 5-0. On 55 minutes Nick volleyed long range - a great strike to make it 6-0. Tigers - who are a credit to their parents and themselves with a great sporting attitude despite being goals down, snatched a goal back which was applauded by all to make it 6-1 before Nick took an assist from Ruman and slotted in close range to make it 7-1.
Wayward shooting (and are'nt the goals big enough lads ???) could have meant a much higher score but impressive performances from the team today, interestingly some nice touches in defence today - watching how our defenders try to block and then make a telling pass - so well done Andy, Matt, Ethan, Oli, Joe M, Ethan.
Good performances from Nick with a hat trick, Kieran with classy crosses and corners from right wing and two lovely goals and Matt a fantastic presence in midfield. Ruman worked hard and was just getting left wing off to a fine art today, Dom caused Tigers difficulties and Joe F had some delightful touches and a couple of chances too. Courtney was good defensively and scored well when in attack, Ryan was hardly troubled but called well and collected safely, Man of the Match was Callum for a clean defensive performance and also for his excellent distribution - well done Callum.
A good result boys after an interesting pre season - you are playing well lads keep it up.
