Harlow Town Youth U16 2 Hitchin Town Youth U16 5

Monday, September 25 2006

Hitchin made it "9 points out of 9" in September and strengthened their lead at the top of Division 1 with a comfortable win away to Harlow.

Playing against the slope and wind in the first-half, the lads went in at half-time at 1-1, with Charlie Sparks' fine first time shot from the edge of the box being cancelled out by a header from a free-kick.

The second period saw Hitchin play their best football of the season, with Harlow's first-half reistance being swept away by fast, free-flowing football. A great move from back to front involving 6 players led to Junior Morrison putting Hitchin back in to the lead soon after the break, and 2 further goals from Junior, completing his second hat-trick in 3 games, and a header from skipper Lee Moulton rounded off a fine performance. Another sloppy piece of set-piece defending, resulting in a consolation goal for the home team, didn’t take the gloss off an outstanding 40 minutes of football.

TEAM: Rowland, Tritschler, Moulton, Gray, Froy, Baker, Winn, James, Jacob, Sparks, Morrison.
