Hitchin Under 12's continued their fine run of form with an emphatic 4-0 win over a very sporting Stotfold side.
The boys started off like the weather bright & breezy and went into an early lead with Ben sliding the ball under the advancing keeper for a deserved lead. Dale enjoying his new striking role went close on a couple of occasions but we needed to capitalise on the excellent chances being created by the impressive midfield trio of James Mat H & Billy because the longer it stayed 1-0 Stotfold slowly but steadily started to put pressure on us.
The second half started much the same with Hitchin on the advance but again chances were sent flying every where but in the back off the net! Eventually with Olly coming on to add more presence up front the young Canaries finally broke The Orange boys down with a brace from Billy to cap his man of the match performance and another from Ben to get back on top of the goal scoring charts!.
The wing backs of Ryan & Tom K had great games attacking at will but also providing good support to the defensive trio of Harry playing in a new role alongside Sam & Tom P who blunted any attacks Stotfold threw at them.Mat R was hardly troubled all game as Hitchin ended the game fully on top with shots raining in from all angles and Stotfold were finally put out of their early Halloween Nightmare by our second reserve referee who also had an outstanding game thanks Dave.
An excellent all round team performance reminiscent of the Mighty Middlesbrough V Man. Utd 24 hours previously!
