Hitchin Town (Luton) Youth saw themselves safely through to the next round of the U13's County Cup after yet another impressive win.
The whole team played well in order to progress further in this competition. The boys played some great one touch football and once again took control of the game from the start. Brickhill Wanderers were determined to stop our boys getting through their defence but with a great run from Michael Evans and a fantasic cross into the goal mouth, it wasnt long before we took control when Tom Burke headed the ball into the back of the net to take us in front.
Slowly we showed Brickhill Wanderers that even with 5 players defending their goal, we were just too strong as a team and continued to play how we know best. Once again after being awarded a corner, Matt Morley came from his defensive position to slot the ball into the back of the net to put us safely 2 in front just before half time.
The second half saw some more great football, and with a fantastic shot, Kyle Ronald was denied a goal by the crossbar. Brickhill were forced to come out to try and score but were denied by some outstanding saves from Hitchin Town keeper Matt Russell aka Pigeon. New sigining, Ciaran Newton had a great game too. He was solid in defence and was also linking up well with Michael Evans in attack.
Overall, Hitchin Town were the stronger side and did everything that was required to win the match and progress to the third round. Well done Boys!!!
