A cold December morning saw a slow start to the match, the boys taking a while to find their feet and warm up; two weeks since their last match.
Matt made a couple of great saves early on, particularly one from a good strike by Memorials number 4. After these early Memorial attempts Hitchin started to wake up and smell victory. The level of passing improved by Hitchin throughout the game and saw attempts at goal by Lee (7), Alfie, Simmy (2), Jack (2), Oli, Callum and Ruman (2) with help from Harkeerat and good defending by Callum, Rhys and Alfie.
However, it was Jack that first struck home after a left-footed kick to give us our first goal. With their confidence boosted Hitchin went on to score 6 more in the second half: Oli (2), Lee (1), Jack (1), Alfie (2). This was without doubt due to the excellent passing by the whole team. Well done boys ! Lets keep this level of performance up and top the Division at the end of the season.
