Hurricanes blew out The Dragons fire and left them Red in the face with an outstanding display at a chilly Purwell. The entire squad played brilliantly together showing their true awsome team play capability to the full! From Matt in goal, the defence of Callum, Jack, Rhys and Simmy, through mid-field, to the boys up front, they all played a game to remember for a long, long time.
From the off, Hurricanes were all over the Dragons who rarely threatened during the first period, and it wasn't long before a super cross in by Lee was volleyed home superbly by Ruman to open the scoring. What a goal it was too, but the second by Alfie after a neat flick on by Ruman, was definately the goal of the match when, after shaking off two defenders, he turned the keeper and placed the ball perfectly into the bottom right hand corner!
Midway through the first half, Alfie clear on goal was brought down just inside the area resulting in his second goal as he calmly struck home a perfect penalty to make it 3 - 0. Moments later, another great piece of teamwork involving Lee, Ruman and Oliver made it 4 - 0 when Oli shot home from close range. Most opposition would have given up hope by this stage, but all credit to the Luton boys, as just before the break they managed to claw one back after a good, albeit very rare counter-attack. 4 - 1.
Second half started much like the first, with an unselfish pass back by Harkeerat setting up Ruman to complete his brace and extend our lead even further in the early stages. Simmy was then given a chance up front and grabbed it with both hands, cracking in a shot that proved to hard for the keeper to handle, and as he fumbled it Simmy followed the shot in to tap the ball over the line. 6 - 1.
Towards the end of the game, Simmy made it seven when he got onto the end of a masterful pass by Oliver, and rocketed the ball past a helpless keeper, nearly ripping the net from the woodwork! Finaly, just as everybody thought that it was all over, the last goal kick of the match by Reds was poorly taken, and Harkeerat punished them by sending it straight back to where it came from for a last second final goal.
A magical result and a goal bonanza for the lads, with credit too for the Dragons boys, their manager and supporters for not giving up and being a pleasant, sporting side to play against and good luck to them in the future.
