Weston Youth Under 14 v Hitchin Town Youth Under 14

Another fine display of football from these confident young Canaries. As they enter into their Christmas Break they have now won 6 (SIX) on the trot in the league with an impressive 26 goals for and only 5 conceded.

But it was the way they played today that impressed even the home fans today.
With wonderful link up play from the back through the midfield and onto the front boys. the boys carved up a Weston team on many occasions in the first half with Lewis, Billy, Olly &  Ben at the heart of most that was great on the eye. With Mickey dominating at the back and bringing the ball out of defence in majestic fashion the lads created chance after chance. After a great shot from Ben and save from the soon to be busy Weston keeper, Billy opened up the scoring with a back post drive after good work by Sam on the left.

The goals flowed from then on in  Olly finishing off another good flowing move, Richard then got in the act with a sliding stretch for the first and a cracker of a finish from outside the box which sailed over the keeper and into the net. So 4-0 and cruising but with a mix of switching off by Hitchin and greater determination by Weston a clean sheet was ruined by a shot which should have been cut out was spilled by Harry in the sand pit of a goal mouth and gobbled up by the on rushing striker. The lads new they had to make amends to get the superiority back into perspective and they did with  goal for Sam after more silky build up.

Half Time 5-1

A chance for Mike to change things around giving the excellent Billy & Lewis a well earned rest and a good opportunity for Josh & Dale to impress. There were a few positional changes and it took the lads quite a while to get going in this half, but we still managed to create enough chances to have increased our tally but it wasn't to be.

On a heavy pitch Ben ran all day and was justly rewarded with Man of the Match.
But it was the inter passing that was impressive in this game and the lads enter the new year in good heart and belief that there might just be something shiny waiting for them at the end of the season!
