Hitchin moved back to the top of Royston Crow Division Two with a fine display despite being short of several players due to half-term week.
Good work down the right hand side from man-of-the-match Sam Ward gave Liam Sweeney an easy chance to open the scoring early and he duly took it.
With Lee Caller also having his best game since joining in the summer and a fine performance at right back by Simmy Dhillon, this game gave plenty of players the chance to shine.
Christian Farrugia made it 2-0 from a scramble, duly followed by a looping shot from Lee, then a neat finish from Sam, a typically classy goal from Jake Alderson and Liam's second. Six nill at half-time.

Some changes were made second half, with Jake taking the goalkeeper's jersey and Luke McCabe moving up front.
Biggleswade never gave up but found it difficult to live with Hitchin's wave after wave of attack. Liam showed great strength when put through to notch his hat-track and make it seven nil, followed by a long range blast by Lee and two late strikes from Luke.
It can be difficult to keep shape and discipline in games like this, but generally Hitchin stayed focused and tried to do the right things.
Much tougher games must surely lie ahead in either league or cup.
