The Harriers started the game lively, an early run down the wing from Zac saw an excellent pass to Matthew who's shot on goal forced a save from the keeper.
The Harriers continued to apply the pressure and a casual tap by Joe into the left corner opened up the scoring [1-0]. A shot by Tom was saved by the Melbourn keeper who was not afraid to come out and save the ball at the player’s feet. A Melbourn striker managed to get a shot in as Ryan got his hands to the ball, the shot fortunately went wide. Matthew had a strong run through midfield from defence, and managed to get in a shot that just went over the bar. As the Harriers continued to create chances a pass from Joe was struck cleanly by Matthew to make it [2-0] (his first goal for the Harriers). A left footed shot from Tom just before half time added to the tally to make it [3-0]. Excellent defensive work by both Daniel and the master of all football positions, Juan.
The second half started with the Harriers again pushing forward, a Juan cross to Zac allowing for a shot on goal that was just lifted over the bar. A Melbourn free kick on the edge of the box forced a desperate save from Ryan and the ball was eventually cleared. A shot from Juan on the edge of the box was just wide of the mark. A Joe corner picked up by Daniel allowed him to have a shot that was just right of the post. In the closing minutes of the game a Melbourn shot was cruelly deflected off the post.
