Hitchin Town Youth FC Coaches Code of Conduct

Managers/Coaches of HTYFC have a clear Club Code of Conduct which is as follows :

1. Respect the worth of each individual and treat all equally.

2. Place the well being and safety of each player above all other considerations.

3. Adhere to all League, Football Association and Hitchin Town Youth FC Guidelines and Codes of Good Practice.

4. Develop appropriate working relationships with players based on mutual trust and respect.

5. Do not exert any undue influence to obtain personal benefit or reward.

6. Encourage and guide players to accept responsibility for their own behaviour and performance.

7. Ensure that all activities are appropriate for age, maturity and experience of players.

8. Promote positive aspects of the sport ie fair play, laws of the game.

9. Do not use or tolerate inappropriate language.

10. Coaches should, at the outset clarify with the players ( and where appropriate, parents) exactly what is expected of them and what they are entitled to expect from their coach.

11. Keep good , regular and open communication with their parent group which should include at least one invitation to a Parents Meeting each season . All parents/guardians should have the contact details of the Coach.

12. Coaches should hold the emergency contact numbers for all players at any training event and on match days . These should be checked for updates or changes.

13. Coaches must consistently display high standards of behaviour and appearance.

14. Coaches to be qualified at the minimum to the FA Level 1 standard.

15. In the event that any player wishes to move between HTYFC teams, this must be done with the agreement of both Managers. In the event of non-agreement, then the HTYFC Executive will make a ruling.
