The following sites are used by Hitchin Town Youth FC.
Wilshere-Dacre School, Fishponds Road, Hitchin, SG5 1NS
Wilshere-Dacre School is situated in central Hitchin on Fishponds Road, 150 metres east of Top Field, Hitchin Town’s ground and opposite the Hitchin swimming pool and Hitchin Boys School.
Approaching Hitchin from the North, follow the A600 Bedford Road into central Hitchin, take the first left onto Fishponds Road at the roundabout with the green space of Butts Close in front of you and Hitchin Town FC on your left-hand side. Wilshere-Dacre is on the left-hand side 150m from this roundabout.
Approaching Hitchin from the South and West, follow the A505 from Luton or A602 from Stevenage and follow signs for Letchworth, Bedford and the swimming pool until you reach the roundabout above. Turn right onto Fishponds Road and follow the directions above.
Approaching Hitchin from the East, follow the A505 down Cambridge Road and Nightingale Road into the town centre, take the second exit off the roundabout onto Fishponds Road. The school is 300m away on the right-hand side.
There are approximately 40 car parking spaces at the school. There may be some congestion on some Saturdays when the U7, U8 and U9 are all at home. Parking is also available opposite the school on Fishponds Road in front of Hitchin Boys School. There is also car parking available at the Hitchin Town ground, accessible via the first turning on Fishponds Road. The school is 100m away from this car park.
We have very close links with the school and would ask that you respect the school, dispose of litter responsibly and do not clean muddy football boots on the school premises – thank you!
Purwell Lane, Walsworth.
Follow the A505 from Hitchin towards Letchworth and just after the Anchor PH and Millstream PH you will come to some traffic lights. Take a right turn at the lights and follow the road up, on the bend of the road to your right is Purwell Lane, take a right turn into Purwell Lane and travel down this road. Take the second turning on the right (not named on the map) to the playing fields.
King Georges Playing Fields, Hitchin.
From the A600 Bedford Road,at the Angels Reply PH, take a right turn into Bearton Road, or a left turn if coming into Hitchin from Bedford direction.Take the second left turning into Old Hale Way and follow this road down for approx 500 yards and just opposite the second turning on the right is the entrance to Hitchin Rugby Club - this is King Georges playing fields.
